Event Wrap-Up

The First Annual Remington Cutlery Collectors Club Event hosted by Smoky Mountain Knife Works on July 3rd and 4th was a huge success. This was a 2-day event starting on the 3rd at noon until the close of business on the 4th. On the 4th, club members were allowed entrance into Smoky one hour before the store opened to be first at the RCCC exhibit and to do some shopping. A 10% discount was offered on all Remington products, as well as an additional 10% storewide discount for RCCC new and existing members. There were lots of giveaway including Remington t-shirts, hats, tins, magnets and stickers. Also present for the event were the artists themselves, “Mountain Man” , Chase Pipes and photographer, Andy Armstrong, featuring the Remington Tin Series through Smoky.

Remington employees were on site both days talking with individuals about the collector’s club, explaining the many benefits and the club knife offerings. There were 2 knives available to purchase at the event. There was the exclusive Smoky knife, the R6166 Senator Stag Two-Blade that when purchased included a free club membership. There was also the event knife: the exclusive, serialized, limited edition (only 250), Remington Cutlery Collector's Club Inaugural Board Meeting Event trapper. (The event knife was offered only for this weekend.)

Hollis Large, Scott Lester and Al Russo displayed their personal Remington collections in the National Knife Museum. The museum also had it’s most treasured Remington collections on display.

The highlight of the event was the commemorative knife raffle in the National Knife Museum, the RC103 Jack Knife – one of two of a kind. One of the knives was given the National Knife Museum to be placed on display, while the other was raffled and given away to a lucky winner.

We had a great time at this event meeting the members (new and old) and would like to thank everyone who made the weekend a success.
